Project 637

Project 637 is a part of our Mission Statement to Put Jesus First In Our Community. We have been blessed with a large portion of land that can be used as a ministry tool beyond placing buildings in certain locations. The project is born out of Mark 6:37, when the disciples requested Jesus to send the people away to the surrounding towns and villages to get something to eat. Jesus' reply was simple and right at the heart of ministry when he said, "You give them something to eat." Therefore, we have designated a certain portion of our property to grow produce for that express purpose. All the vegetables produced will be donated to the Wiregrass Food Bank for distribution to those in most need for fresh produce. We have set one acre apart for this project, believing this ministry will grow larger as we increase in funding and partners. Planted in this one acre will be corn, purple hull peas, squash, and okra for the spring season, and various other plants for the fall season. We have and will be partnering with several area organizations, including the Houston County Extension Service for advice.
